Discuss: Why do you think you can beat Boston so easily? at Detroit Pistons Fan Community - PistonsForum.com

THat's no reason to not be a fan of your team. What about Allen and Posey?...

It is not my team anymore and yes it is a reason not to be a fan.

I will never root for a team where the GM runs around bad mouthing ex players on LIVE RADIO. Or where the owner makes fun of ex players at award shows and calls them "pieces of %%%%"

Sorry but Celtics Pride was about players like Bird and Russell that gave it their all and left everything on the court. It was never about the Paul Pierce's of the world that think pride is taking off your shirt and nearly screwing your team out of a game six like he did in 05. Or spitting at Lebron James because you lost a freaking pre season game.

You don't get it and you never will because Celtics Pride is something you never were a part of.

Why because I don't want to root for punks and jerks? Because I would rather the so called best player on my team not whine like a school girl every time he didn't get his own way all the while throwing gang signs up at rookies because they out played him?

You make a point. The Ps are good guys that stay out of trouble and understand the team concept.
That's why we don't trade them for this years hot F/A.

Re: Why do you think you can beat Boston so easily?

Why will Celtics beat Pistons, from Boston.com:
Quote:

1. They have home court

The only thing that's mattered for the Celtics this postseason has been the location of their games. The C's are 8-0 at home and 0-6 on the road in the playoffs. Home teams were 22-3 in the second round of the playoffs. And the C's are 43-6 overall at the Garden this year. With fans like Donnie Wahlberg and Danny Wood of New Kids on the Block it's hard to imagine the Celtics ever losing at home again.

2. Defense

The Pistons have never been pretty. Their game has always revolved around defense. The problem with that? The Celtics play defense better. Boston is holding opponents to 86.1 points and 40 percent shooting in the playoffs. Detroit has held opponents to 87.8 points and 43.9 percent shooting. Not only are the Celtics going to win, but they're going to beat the Pistons at their own game.

3. The Pistons are old

Chauncey Billups (left) is 31. Lindsey Hunter (right) is 37. Tayshaun Prince is the only Detroit starter under 30. The Celtics are no spring chickens, but their starting point guard is a 22-year-old ball of energy, and their starting center is 23. The Pistons have gone to six straight conference finals, which you can chalk up to either experience or old age. Let's call it old age.

4. This play won't happen again

Tony Allen is not in the playoff rotation, so he won't be there to foul Chauncey Billups at the end of a tie game like he did on Dec. 19. Without that ending, the Celtics could have been 3-0 against the Pistons during the regular season. Looks like someone's got Detroit's number.

5. Red is watching

The Celtics dedicated the Garden's parquet floor to the late Red Auerbach before the first game of this season, and it's possible the Celtics patriarch is watching over this team. With his team up three in Game 7 against Cleveland, Paul Pierce got a fortuitous bounce on a free throw to seal the win. "I think he kind of tapped it in the right direction," said Pierce.

Re: Why do you think you can beat Boston so easily?

honestly, there were absolutely no reason from boston point of view to write otherwise...

Ok, responses are that such pieces are unprofessional and biased but can't really say that this forum is full of unbiased professionals...

Whatever, game (or stern) decides outcome, not predictions.

Re: Why do you think you can beat Boston so easily?

1. They have home court
That's a GOOD thing for the Pistons. I expect them to come out with a sense of urgency that they might not have if they started this series at home.

2. Defense
Pistons are better defensively. The stats that were pointed out are an apples and oranges argument.

3. The Pistons are old
Actually, the Pistons are EXPERIENCED. (I like how they tried to drag Lindsey in there to try and make a point.)

4. This play won't happen again
...Whatever. I fully expect the likes of Rondo, Perkins, E-House, etc. to make some boneheaded plays. The reg season don't mean crap now! You'd think that Boston would know that after that Hawks series.

5. Red is watching
Red is DEAD dude! ...He ain't gonna be sitting behind the bench giving Doc any advice on how to deal with a 6-11 Center sticking 3-point daggers in the Celt's grills!
