If Sheed were player/coach how many tech's could he get? He'd have to get more than 7. In all seriousness, they should try this to get around the rule.
Technically, there are only players and coaches. The "player/coach" designation doesn't "officially" exist any longer specifically because it allowed for getting around the CBA with regards to salaries, and I can see how it could be used (per your suggestion) to overcome player rules as well.

What Sheed needs, is to shoot Mike Curry a look, and let him go off like a maniac and eat up the techs.

Hey, I gave the man credit on the one play that worked to perfection. I've always said, if he proves me wrong, I will be the first in here to admit it.

Flip has won 9 playoff games. His best is 10 playoff games. He's ready to surpass that mark. Good job...Flip.

So how many "play off" techs does Sheed have?

This post should be deleted. Every time i see it i get itchy. I think it's giving me an allergic reaction . . .

Piston players said Micheal Curry has been on them because they are not closing out quarters properly. He said it's one of the most important things to do if you want to win . . .

I agree with the tech thing. It bothers me that Flip ever takes one for Sheed or anybody for that matter.

Re: Flip Saunders worked his magic again last night

Winning game #2 will likely lose it's significance if the Pistons lose one at home (unless they steal another on the road).

One game does NOT make a great coach.

Flip did a very nice job in game #2.

ABOUT TIME!!!!

One every three years don't cut it unless you are the Lions.

We'll see how it all plays out when the series ends. I give him credit for coaching well last night. No more...no less.

Flip can't change the past, but one game will not make up for it, either.

Nice job trying to stir the pot, Bill.

Of course, it's probably more likely true that Sheed would see Flip taking a tech for him as an embarrassment.
I am not really for the taking a tech for the team thing, especially during a close game in the playoffs. For one it does not accomplish much except get the refs mad at you so they are less apt to give you call later on. Secondly imagine in that game if we had given away an extra point. All of a sudden Sheed steps to the line at 20 sec's left in the 4th with a 2 point lead instead of a 3 point lead.

Plus you have to admit we are getting a better whistle now and that has to be due to the fact that the players/coach are not getting on the refs nerves like they used to.
