For one it does not accomplish much except get the refs mad at you so they are less apt to give you call later on. Secondly imagine in that game if we had given away an extra point. All of a sudden Sheed steps to the line at 20 sec's left in the 4th with a 2 point lead instead of a 3 point lead.

Plus you have to admit we are getting a better whistle now and that has to be due to the fact that the players/coach are not getting on the refs nerves like they used to.
But reality, as stated by you, does very little for those that need that pin point to stick into any object that does not threaten them.

Brown has always been a talented two-face.

Look at those names. This is one talented coaching crew and man those youngster don't know how lucky they are.

Some better and learning mentality from a talented and youthful core can make a difference. Not to mention an intensified outlook from blame to lunch-pail persistence of steady acceptance: you must work to appreciate.

Re: Flip Saunders worked his magic again last night

Chuck Daly did an interview on the local Seattle sports radio just before game 2. When the host asked him how he felt about the Pistons after they lost game 1, Chuck replied (paraphrased):

The Pistons need to add one or two more shooters. Their current players are not skilled enough to run an effective offense against a team that is playing defense on the level that Boston is.

He said that Saunders offensive schemes are getting very good results from a flawed team.

Chuck thinks the Pistons just need to make their shots...but since they can't, they need to hire a few players who can.

Where is that Holy Flip avatar? I think I will sport it for the rest of the playoffs.

Its not so much as dig at Brown, only an observation. If you remember back in 05 the main topic was the calls or lack of calls that we were getting. Players were complaining about everything and it was really starting to hurt the teams image and put us at odds with the refs. Flips calmness and ability to keep his cool is a very positive trait that has rubbed off on the players and has helped this team improve its image, relations with the refs, and it has translated over into some wins - at least I think it has. Sheed actually did not lead the league in technicals this year.

This is in the Saunders worked his magic thread so there you go.

Wow. That's pretty high praise. You gotta respect Chuckles...

Are we allowed to post stuff like that? Especially coming from Chuck Daly?

In a battle of two coaching Titans...Flip Saunders came out on top. It is very possible that Flip is a better coach than Doc.
