Flip knows that someone named D.J. could never do well in Boston.

i concur....I know 29 is a reach, but we need someone who has the potential to start at center by midseason IMO or someone who can back up Tay and is already to ahead of Amir in terms NBA readiness.

He's only 6' 9" tall. That's just a little bigger than Isiah...

Are we really the kind of team where one of our players are so bad that a rookie could start over them by mid-season?

If D.J. can beat Chris Webber and/or Dick Bavetta in a foot race then I would be willing to take a chance on him.

I hope to God we don't mishandle him the way we did his long lost brother. When barfing on the court is your only claim to fame ....you know you were poorly coached.

Well right now you have no true center on the squad other than Samb...If Sheed is not bringing it everynight now, would do you think he will do next year when his legs and ego are a year older. With that being said those knees of Dice aren't getting any younger either. Dice could always go back to the bench....

IMO Samb puts on another 30 pounds this summer or he sits on the bench again.
SO either you find a sleeper who may sneak into that staring center spot later in the season or trade up with one of those egos currently on the team...especially if they can't survive and are eliminated Friday or Sunday.

That is why I was saying why go for a 6'9 dude if there is a bigger body out there?

Re: Rumor: Pistons Promise DJ White

If you guys might indulge me for a moment.

We are not going to draft this guy.

1. Joe can't control who will be drafted before he selects.

2. Anyone who gets told in secret, then leaks the secret, does not have Pistons DNA.

That's just my vibe. It is waaaaay premature for this to be leaked out. Makes the Org look bad.

Lucic cut his hand in a fight with Michael Komisarek. "I'll be fine," he said. "(X-rays are) negative, but there's so many broken bones in there from before you can't really tell."

I was just thinking that. With the Pistons rep of smart drafting, how would anyone that they "promise" a draft spot make it that far? Is someone playing games?

That's why it's called the double-secret. It's very complex.
