who was the player last year who thought we 'promised' to draft him and then got upset that we didn't? was it gabe pruitt (now on the celtics)? sounds like these agents are throwing their players' names out there to try and guarantee a 1st round selection.

for example, everyone knew last year the pistons wanted stuckey, and now everyone universally agrees he should've been a top-10 pick in the last draft. if you're an agent, you want your player's name associated with the pistons.

I think that's when no one actually knows what is going on....a strategy employed by the Pistons in Game 3.

from what I understand you have to use your 1st round pick (aka not trade it) every other year... looking back 2 years ago we traded the pick and 4 years ago we traded the pick, so I really could see us trading the pick away again this year between now and mid June depending on how the team plays the next 3 weeks and how Dumars plans on going forward.

I really don't think this team (if were staying in the championship drive) has room for more youth... we have enough issues to getting the zoo crew mins now, unless there is thought that somebody just too good to pass drops all the way down to that late 1st round.... I'd trade the pick and look at seeing what we can pick up in backups with our MLE and such...

Maybe I missed the rumor mills with Max and stuckey but I don't remember them running around telling folks that the pistons made promises to them. If they did, i can live with that.... but if your told something like that and you go run your mouth.... you show your not the type of player I want on my team. so either way, if he's a good player or not... I don't want his "char" on the pistons... If he wanted to be a piston why would he be talking? he wouldn't..... he's doing it to hopefully get interest to get picked earlier.
