That was mainly it. Now if we can only get some acknowledgment that money could have possibly factored into LB leaving?
Anyway. I do appologize for the misleading thread title. No official word has been announced of course. I don't have the time or memory to recall how things went down with the other 3 coaches that were dismissed at seasons end so I have to somewhat trust the opinion of a guy who analysis these things for a living. What he wrote made sense so I posted it with the link so we could all form our own opinions.
In reading some of the posts here I am a little less certain. Those who want Flip out can at least take some comfort in the fact that there has not been an official release stating that he would be back either.
I have to admit, I do have mixed feelings about it. I would like to see something different. For someone to come in and see things from a fresh angle. On the other hand was it really Flips fault that we lost to Boston? They were the better team. Especially with Ray Allen heating up. Thats one thing the other teams did not have to worry about and its no coincidence that they won the last 2 games with Rays shooting.
Flip did a pretty good job coaching the Orlando series. Ran that one about as well as any coach could.
Just something to consider. Overall I think we could use a fresh perspective and Flip may as well have lost the players anyway and once you lose the players it really does not matter what kind of coach you are.
We will see. Dumars sometimes likes to wait a few days before making any decisions so it may be awhile yet.
I am not a big fan of the "there are no other better coaches out there so we may as well hang onto Flip" club. To me that is a sign of giving up. If Dumars wants Flip back then it has to be for the right reasons in that he still believes in him.
