edited to add;

Thanks Mikhail. Figures it's Steven A Smith.
Where all of this info is coming from, I wonder? Because if all of that that is true, Joe is way late with Flip. Unless he wanted to give Curry a year of the apprenticeship, I dunno.

It's strange that none of it has been reported before. I mean a player pulling aside a reporter begging for an old coach seems like something that is news worthy.

"scared of Joe" is the only theory I can find much sense in when it comes down to that.

What a mess. If that article is true then no wonder the team has been falling apart when the chips are down. I hope Dumars makes some moves because I don't want to follow a team like that. Bunch of cry babies.

Re: Flip not Coming Back per WDFN

If Cola had lasted more then 2 years...... IF Brown had last longer then 2 years.... Flip probably would have been gone after last year, as it was there is an undertone in reporting this story that detroit "flips" coaches to often, now after Joe's interview its being protrayed abit better.

What really ticks me off about the reporting is how everybody is saying its all detroits fault that larry isn't here..... did the rest of the country not watch him and his antics of 2005? He may have been fired, but he did everything in his power to force the firing.... winning in 2004 was maybe the worst thing for both the players and the coach.

For those reasons, I'd go with Avery Johnson, Terry Porter, Bill Laimbeer, Jeff Fricken Van Gundy, or any other guy with coaching experience over Michael Curry. There is a reason guys pay their dues.
Although in the case of Avery, he hadn't paid any more dues when he took over Dallas than Curry has with the Pistons.

Laimbeer is the answer. He has experience; is a Champion as a coach; just not in the NBA.

Try not to "insult" Joe D with insinuations such as those.

Right, they gambled on him and now we don't have to.
