Tay on the trade market?

Quote:
Small forwards on the market include Richard Jefferson of the New Jersey Nets, Josh Howard of the Dallas Mavericks, Gerald Wallace of the Charlotte Bobcats and Tayshaun Prince of the Detroit Pistons.

But there are stumbling blocks to each deal. The Mavs might not want to send Howard to a rival team. Detroit president Joe Dumars is probably not interested in Diaw. The Nets need contracts that expire by 2010. And it's unclear whether the Suns would be willing to take back Wallace's contract.

I wonder what could Pistons get for Tay? Would they swap him for Jefferson straight up? Or package him with someone else?

Re: Tay on the trade market?

Everyone on the roster except Stuckey is on the market. Not all of them will get traded, obviously, because Dumars will try and get the best deal, but any one of them could get dealt.

Charlotte is a definite possibility for us. You know Brown is there trying to dump half the roster for guys he is more familiar with.

Re: Tay on the trade market?

Brown doesn't like Tay. He wanted him traded, which was what led to Larry being pushed out by Joe and the front office.

Larry wanted Tay gone after the championship.

Re: Tay on the trade market?

Brown wants everyone gone at one point or another. It's his particular brand of schizophrenia. He also wants everyone on every other roster at some point.

And what led to Brown getting pushed out was his openly courting another job. Brown ALWAYS leaves behind turmoil and trying to blame that on anyone but him is a stretch.

Re: Tay on the trade market?

Brown even toyed with the idea of starting Darvin Ham at one point.

Prince is another one of those guys that you can't do with and you can't do without.

He does all the little things that Curry likes but he has to stop vanishing in the later stages of the playoffs. He once again cited fatigue and that bothers me. I know he has played all these mins but one would think that a true champion would be able to reach back and pull out that last bit to make it to the finish line. You work so hard all year only to get tired with only a couple of wins away from the Finals.

Re: Tay on the trade market?

I really like Tay, but like Max said earlier, he disappears in the latter stages of the playoffs.

I am still trying to understand his drop off from being instrumental in the first couple of series, then shazaam, he just vanishes.

There is no excuse for the fatigue factor, and in this league he has to guard the elite small forwards.

Since he will be playing on the Olympic team, his value is probably very high.

Re: Tay on the trade market?

Curry is still furious at being benched for Prince and will do everything in his power to ship him out of town.

That would be a good conspiracy theory.

Tay is #1 on my trade priority list for reasons already mentioned by max and AG. Your conspiracy theory has merit...I like it

I don't see Curry as the vengval type of guy. I am sure he wanted to keep his spot just like any player would but I am sure he was professional about it.

One thing, Curry is not going to tolerate players not playing up to their potential or using fatigue as an excuse. Overall Prince seems like the kind of player Curry would like but I can see them clashing if Prince tries to say he was tired after a long plane flight or something.

If you remember how the 01-02 team was like where Curry was the unofficial team captain. They used to laugh at teams that would use fatigue as an excuse on a back-back.

Do you have any links where Curry states he is not a vengeful person? You don't, do you?
