Maybe he'd want to go out on top as a champ and will give it his all in his last season. Or maybe he'll just play it out and retire at the end. I don't know, but people have been known for leaving big money on the table even when they had something left to give.
I am not surprised at all. Sheed is a lot different from other players. He is not and never was motivated by superstar status and money. He has always been a team player though...his emotions just get in the way. I still think he is great at heart despite all of his mistakes. Even though everyone says he let us down the last 3 years (the entire team did actually) I think he won't let us down. If this is truly his last year I think he's going all out. He's still cares about this team, but not about the NBA anymore.

Sheed should coach when he does retire. He could be a great coach. Most

I think you got his motivation right there. He'd like to go out as a champ.

Wouldn't he get thrown out of many games with that temper of his?

Re: Sheed's last season?

Sheed retiring is the start of something bad. No coach will be able to motivate him this season. He's now a lame duck player. This will affect the rest of the team. Do we really think Sheed is going to behave and try hard all the time for Curry IN HIS LAST SEASON...Joe, wake up and smell the Roses disaster...

Re: Sheed's last season?

How many times have we heard that from an athlete? This is my last year, usually when you hear that the retirement party doesn`t happen, not when it is announced anyway.

Perhaps Sheed is sounding the retirement horn to let other GM`s know he is available for a lot less that one might think.

Let`s be real here, with his contract expiring Sheed knows he will not get the kind of money he would like, however, MJ would gladly pay him something close to contribute under LB.

This is not Sheed`s last year. I would be very surprised if it was.
