Re: Media analysis of our draft From DraftExpress: DETROIT PISTONS Picks: Traded rights to D.J. White (No. 29) to Seattle for rights to Walter Sharpe (No. 32) and Trent Plaisted (No. 46); Deron Washington (No. 59). Grade: C- Even though the Pistons really didn’t have a whole lot to work with here, it’s hard to come away overly impressed with what they did on draft night. They traded their first-round pick for the rights to Walter Sharpe (a big talent with major red flags) and Trent Plaisted, who will join Deron Washington in Europe next season.

Re: Media analysis of our draft From ESPN/Chad Ford: Detroit Pistons Grade: B Round 1: None Round 2: Walter Sharpe (32), Trent Plaisted (46), Deron Washington (59) Analysis: No one knows if Sharpe will be a stud or a bust. But I like the pick just because it's Detroit president Joe Dumars being bold, as usual, trying to reach for greatness. Sometimes things don't pan out, but he keeps trying.Plaisted is solid at No. 46, and Washington is a great athlete who will probably play overseas. Sharpe will be the guy to watch, and since he's such a gamble, I'm not sure how to grade the pick. But for boldness, it gets a B.

Re: Media analysis of our draft Sam Smith of Sporting News: C Detroit Pistons. The team got out of the first round -- and subsequently guaranteed money -- but did add a few high second-rounders (Walter Sharpe, Trent Plaisted). It's a good non-risk for a team that's happy with the veterans and kids they have.

I see that others outside of some fans perceive this years draft as a move indicative of Joe being "happy" with what he has. |

Re: Media analysis of our draft I think he is happy with the kinds he has, not necessarily the vets. Another good example of why Amir should have played more last year because you still don't know what he is going to do. Keep an eye on how White does in Seattle.

Re: Media analysis of our draft I'm keeping an eye on what Joe does here rather than on White. Bottom line, we have a DJWhite with experience, JMax, and we don't have to worry about fitting him in. I'd keep an eye on Amir and Afflalo and see how their roles evolve. Stuckey is almost a given at this point with how he contributed at the end last season.
