He looked really good standing behind Garnett, Pierce, and Allen, didn't he?

He even looked alright hiding behind DWade and Shaq.

On this team he would be another run of the mill backup 3.

For the money, he might even suck wearing a Pistons uni.

We will have all agreed on a disparaging name for him before XMas.
...Poser? ...the flower? ...little game James? ...Parker Posey?

I think he's better than that. He played a significant role on those teams both when those other guys were on the floor and when they were on the bench - shot 50% from three in the finals, and 45% overall from three in the playoffs. And unlike Hayes, Evans, et al who came before, he's a hard nosed rebounder and defender.

As much as I dislike the extracurricular cheap shots he brings to the game (I do feel dirty promoting him), he also brings a toughness this team lacks. Is he worth the $5.5 or $6.0 million for four years it would take to get him? It's a gamble no doubt. But, a strong presence off the bench, particularly at the 3 is to me the most obvious flaw in this team, and he does fill that hole.

And, not sure I see many other realistic options out there (Childress?), who addresses the Pistons' needs.

Re: Pistons Targeting Posey?

Is Posey TWICE as good as Bonzi Wells?
You'd have to pay him twice as much.

Re: Pistons Targeting Posey?

Posey is a hustler. Would he challenge Tay for the starting spot? Not sure that Currey would be strong enough to make that move but he may sure as heck challenge his minutes.

Unlike some of our current group; Posey still felt the need to dive on the floor and crash the boards after wimnning a ring. He was not satisfied with one; will he be satisfied with two? Will a big pay day stomp out his desire? Those are the true questions.

Re: Pistons Targeting Posey?

I have not read all the posts in this thread but why in the heck does Posey want to leave Boston? Do they not want him anymore? Does he want too much money?

IMO, unless some team in the east gets a lot better in a hurry, Boston will be in the Finals next year!

I'd assume he thinks, probably rightly, that this is his best chance to get a max MLE contract with some years on it, and that Boston won't go further into tax land to pay him that.

I was a little hard on myself.
Posey has occasionally played shooting guard.
He used to spell D-"Wode" in Miami.

He'd be a good back-up for Tay at the right price.

Re: Pistons Targeting Posey?

Hmm instead of Melo go for Posey. Not bad, he does bring Defense. And DESIRE!
