Pistons Targeting Posey?

According to the Boston Herald, the Pistons are one of a few teams targeting James Posey with their mid-level. I for one think that Posey would be a great pick-up! Living in Beantown I had the unfortunate ability to watch many Celtics games this year and James was big for them. I'd even go so far as to say, no Posey on the Celtics = no championship in 2008. The guy hustles his a** off, plays great D, and can knock down the three at a high percentage. What's not to like. We get stronger while our competition gets weaker!

Re: Pistons Targeting Posey?

Hes a great role player, but there's just something about him since his Heat days that I don't like. Joe D already said he wouldn't use his full MLE and thats probably what it will take to get the two ring wonder.

At this time, I don't think that it's wise to use the full MLE on a back-up guard.
The Pistons have plenty of back-up guards.

But Posey is a back-up 3, isn't he?

Yep, even and undersized PF if necessary.

He is and would be great for us. I think the thing that you are referring to KPAAV is the multi-colored mouth guard. That just throws me off although it is better then the black ones that some football players wear.

Re: Pistons Targeting Posey?

He would be an upgrade from Hayes and Mo (our previous long ball summer saviour) as he can play defense and shoot the long ball. Go for it Joe...but that still not enough to get over the hump......

Yeah but if he played for the Pistons it could be red, white and blue!

Re: Pistons Targeting Posey?

Posey is a product of his environment.

He looked really good standing behind Garnett, Pierce, and Allen, didn't he?

He even looked alright hiding behind DWade and Shaq.

On this team he would be another run of the mill backup 3.

For the money, he might even suck wearing a Pistons uni.

We will have all agreed on a disparaging name for him before XMas.
