Re: Posey Hits the Market

I'd give him 3 years at 5 mill per with a Team option for the 4th.

I believe he is greatly under valued. Very very versatile guy, brings toughness, checks multiple positions, would be perfect to rest Tay and MOST IMPORTANTLY steps way the FUNK up when the chips are down.

I agree with that offer on term and wouldn't mind going the full MLE. If he's holding hope for 4 or 5 years?...I don't think anyone will give it to him...especially Boston.

I like his play. As a defender he's sorta the EC version of Bowen...minus most of the knees, trips, undercuts, and martial arts tactics. Great hustle. And he can hit shots coming down the wire in PO games.

Guess I should have said 5.8 instead of 5, either is cool with me. This is not the time to be thrifty, it's either time to start fresh, or make a legit push, like when SA signed Finley a couple years ago.

He's way more versatile and explosive then Bowen. Not quite the defender, but I'd love to throw him at LBJ and Pierce and Igodala instead of having him thrown at Tay, and having Tay worn down to a nub AGAIN because we don't have a legit backup.

Yeah he is a little dirty, I'm cool with that...

Re: Posey Hits the Market

How good a deal would it have been if Posey had been signed last year for 3-4 years at the full MLE? I never heard a peep about DET being interested in him though.

Might have been the difference between going to the Finals this last season or not IMO. Like a 4 point swing, getting him instead of Boston might have been a big deal.

I agree with this wholeheartedly.

edited to add;
I like the fact that he's a little dirty. Our team is too clean anyway.

And easily worth the full MLE. Based on how he played last year, I don't think anyone would be lamenting that fact that he was still signed.

I think Joe is caught somewhere in the middle and can't make up his mind what to do. BillD's short arms and deep pockets make it even tougher for him.
