PISTONS: Arron’s Evolution

The Pistons were thrilled with Arron Afflalo’s rookie season long before he confided to Joe Dumars somewhere in the middle of the interminable 82 games that he’d be a lot better defender in his second season once he catalogued everyone’s offensive arsenal.

Re: Arron Afflalo

I love articles like that. The ones where it makes it seem like our new coach is going to preach defense 24/7.

Re: Arron Afflalo

There is a great history of writing very good stories about the pistons bench players. He is not going to be here very long. My assumption is going by history.

Ahhhh the definitive pessimist. I dunno, when I read the article it seems as if Curry was on the same page as the Forum.

Curry has stated that when Amir got consistent minutes he delivered, the inconsistency in mins is what screwed him up, and in this article he says the same thing about AA. He seems like there may have been a BIG difference in young guy philosophy between "Michael Dumars-Curry" and Flip.

Re: Arron Afflalo

I believe Curry is expecting to give consistent playing time to Samb as well. It may not be as much, but as long as he's consistent it should be fine.

Great article on AA. I think that he will be here in the D a long time, hope to see his jersey someday hanging from the rafters.

Re: Arron Afflalo

I like the guy's 'tude. Sounds like he accepted his rookie role well, taking in as much knowledge as he could. Sounds like he's got a plan for continuous improvement. Sounds like he's grounded in the importance of defense. Sounds like he feels himself to be a leader and knows it is always most effective by example.

IMO he did a very good job last season and, after reading the article, I'm looking forward to better things in coming years.
