If Hammond were to pluck Billups from us then he deserves the pre-season GM of the year award. To take that team and add Billups and Jefferson to Mike Redd. No way he does it, but if he did......then we know that Joe was just a front man to the real mastermind of the org.

I've wondered about that on and off for a while as well. My conclusion is that Mr. D would not have tolerated such organizational disfunction. He's proven to be too good a businessman to have created an unhealthy management structure. No doubt Hammond was an asset to Joe and the organization, but I have to believe that Mr. D put the right man out front.

Some folk feel that great leaders find a way to surround themselves with better talent. I don't mean this in a negative way at all, but a great leadership quality is to have the self-confidence to surround yourself w/great talent.

Re: Billups to Bucks Trade Rumor Posted Today

If you read the article it IS NOT a rumor. It is merely speculation that Hammond and Skiles would like a good veteran PG to run the offense. Since Billups is on the market (I guess) and Hammond was with the Pistons - his name was mentioned. Nevertheless, they don't even cite an unnamed source. Just an article speculating for the sake of speculating.

Where are these coming from? If it's Hoopsworld, isn't that one the least credible sources ever ?

I'm going to start a rumor and see if Steven A. Smith picks it up.

I would keep an eye on this. While the Bucks have nothing to offer us for Chauncey that doesn't mean a 3rd or 4th team doesn't enter the picture that does.

Joe is waiting for Flip to get coaching job for an NBA team, so that he can send Chauncey that way.
