Josh Smith Will Be A Piston, (in my opinion)

That's my call. May not be going out on a limb but after all my crack pot ideas and silly trade scenarios--I have come to the conclusion, and I honestly believe, that Josh Smith will be a piston.

He doesn't want to play for Woodson and Atlant for some reason doesn't want to pay him what he's worth.

He may tell Atlanta to f off and not to match forcing a sign and trade. We could potentially get him on the cheap if he decides to sign with us since The hawks won't want to give him up for nothing. This means we could possibly get Josh Smith for Tay straight up...with some salary filler like Amir.

If Joe could swing a Tay + Amir deal for J. Smith, something not totally out of reach, we would still have Billups and Sheed as trade chips. We could be scary.

He's exactly what we need (in addition to a rebounding center). He'll bring some athleticism which we lack, definately an upgrade at the 3. Three blocks a game for a SF?

Re: Josh Smith Will Be A Piston, IMO

Would Joe really get rid of his best draft pick, who has never missed a game, loves to play defense, and wants to be in Detroit? Seems unlikely to me.

Understanding the CBA and cap is a commitment.

I'm not taking on Padawans, but Hobbs might have room for a Sith apprentice.

Re: Josh Smith Will Be A Piston, (in my opinion)

With the BYC rules, the salaries have to match what Josh made last year......OR.....50% of what he makes this year .....IF....it's 20% more than what he made last year........or something like that. So in reality we could S&T Smith and if they wanted Tay in the deal they would need to pony up some more $$$$, we'd basically get Speedy Claxton as a throw in.
