The beef I have with the "We need a trade" crowd is that everybody seems a little jaded. Big, athletic, back to the basket, above avg rebounding, good character.......I didn't know Dwight Howard, Al Jefferson and Tim Duncan were available. A trade is needed, this group really has a Complaceny Cancer within it that needs Chemo (sp?) But the trade is oing to involve gambling and giving up a SURE thing (Sheed/Tay/Billups) for the unsure, young SF, Stuckey at PG, etc We're going to have to let go of our security blanket folks.
Kgreg, now why do you want to burst my bubble this early in the A.M., please allow a sista to dream a little LOL.

I know we won't be able to get the D. Howard's & such, however, since it appears that most teams are not willing to take CB for one of their best players (Most teams want Rip), then maybe there are a couple second tier players out there that can be had for CB.

(EX: Maybe a three or 4 team deal involving Phoenix where we can get Diaw and Barbosa since they both are or were on the trading block a few weeks ago.)

Yeah, Joe's job may be tough but what's the point? He is in the sports/entertainment business, not a CEO of a major corporation or someplace where he impacts the life of people. There are ton's of jobs out there with a lot more pressure. Just like other jobs, the bottomline is what matters to the public/investor/employee, not how tough it is.

Actually Joe's job is very similiar to a CEO's. He is responsible for jobs, he's responsible for putting a Great Product on the hardwood to keep folks coming to the Palace, even in a tough Mi economy.

Never meant to imply his job was tough, just wanted to summarize all the crap we spew amongst each other in any given day!!! Man do we miss hoop season.

All is needed is a small trade and I prefer one with one of our starters being traded for two whomevers that are hungrier than Dice and can make an immediate impact....
I would hate to trade Dice. He has played his *** off here, especially the last two years in the playoffs. He is not the problem. His hunger overrides his age in my opinion.

Joe has to be patient. We did not get Rasheed until the trade deadline. Maybe we will have to wait that long again to get a very good player.

Was that the episode where those giant hairy things threw rocks at the stranded pod that Spock and Mccoy, I think, were in. I loved that one because in life, I've done the same thing many times. What do you have to lose? Many times it works out and you end up a winner.

Re: Think we should still make a big trade?

OK THE GRANDDADDY TRADE OF ALL K-GREG "Stupid Trade Scenarios"......

4 Team deal; Involving the Rockets, Lakers & Knicks
  • We ship Billups and Sheed to Hou for T-Mac.
  • Tayshaun to LA for Odom.
  • Hou sends Alston to NY, NY sends us Eddy Curry.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=990~63~1724~883~11~532~617&tea ms=8~10~13~10~18~8~8&te=&cash=

Essentially we convince Hou to give up Alston and T-Mac for Sheed and Billups, maybe a pick too.

We convince LA to do a Tay for Odom swap. The frontcourt of Bynum, Gasol and Odom@SF is a pipedream and they know it, they're looking for a pure SF.

NY jumps at the chance to get a real run-n-gun starting PG in Alston and can shed Curry's contract.

Last, offer Delonte West the full MLE (we'll trade him later)

Our New Line-up:
PG: Stuckey / D.West
SG: Rip / AA
SF: TMac / Rip / AA / Odom / Sharpe
PF: Odom / Maxiel / AJ
C: Dyess / Curry /Samb

I know we're a little short up front with Dyess, but look at our perimeter game......Stuckey, West, Rip, TMac, AA; WOW!!!!!! Plus with a wide body like Curry eating up space, that will free up lots of boards for AJ and Max. We'd have a HUGE payroll in 08/09, but nobody with exception of Curry has a contract longer than 2010, heck mgmt owes the fans at least 1 season of lux tax.

Re: Think we should still make a big trade?

Couldn't resist, had to experiment yet again, try this one on for size: RealGM: Trade Checker
  • 3 team deal, Den, Det, Hou.
  • We send Rip and Sheed to Hou for T-Mac;
  • Billups to Denver for AI
  • Denv gets HUGE CAP RELIEF and the PG they're looking for.
  • Hou gets one helluva starting line up w/ Alston, Rip, Battier, Sheed and Yao.
Our new team:
PG: AI / Stuckey
SG: T-Mac / AA
SF: Prince / T-Mac / AA / Sharpe
PF: Maxiel / AJ
C: Dyess / Samb / Ratliff

Pro's, what a lineup!!!!! Cons, AI @ the Point and very small upfront. We'd need to go find a FA scrub of a center like Elson or hope Plaisted is being sandbagged in the VSL.

Agreed, we don't need to make any panic moves.
Let's see Currys coaching system and then we can make a decision come-forth Jan.
