Very good article.

This is purely an opinion based on what I've heard over the last couple of months. I don't know what is best for the team, but as I've said before I believe a change other than just the coach is needed. I also believe that Joe Dumars believes this to be true. I believe that unlike me, and most, if not all of the posters here, he actually DOES know what the team needs.I believe he is working hard to make something happen that will improve the team. I believe he will make something happen. It's taking longer than I thought it would, but I do believe in the man.

My opinion. Unlike many people, I know it is ONLY an opinion. I am getting so tired of people acting like they should be the GM or the coach. Or that they KNOW what the team needs. Give me a break. I really appreciate those of you that state your opinions for what they are and I am more open to what you have to say than the "Know it alls".

Sorry for the rant, but it's been building up.

I like how this article points to this move as a plus for waiting......."It was almost that late in the NBA’s off-season a year ago when Dumars added depth to the one spot on his roster that looked a little thin, plucking Jarvis Hayes in free agency to back up Tayshaun Prince."

Why would Joe go jumping at the first thing that is being dangled in front of his face? It makes sense to wait. Especially knowing that the team is good enough to go far in the playoffs as it is. And Joe would know the best who is the main source of "complacency". Maybe that is the player that he is trying to move. I think he knows more, and he knows the market as well quite a bit better than all of us speculating here. And, if he doesn't make a move, it won't be the end of the world even though many will be disappointed.

Years later, he had a similar conversation with Joe Dumars, the team’s president of basketball operations. The Pistons were about to announce a trade that both Wilson and Dumars were convinced was a winner. But Dumars knew it wouldn’t play that way publicly. “It may not seem like much to you,” Dumars told him, “but I have to go home, listen to talk radio and find out how stupid I am. Read the paper, find out how stupid I am. Watch television, find out how stupid I am. And I’m doing the right thing.”
Wilson concedes that this shouldn’t come as a surprise. Sports is, after all, a visible business about which people care deeply. Anyone with the smarts and skills to land a job running a team should anticipate the repercussions.
“You may think you understand it,” Wilson said, “but until you turn on that radio and start hearing your name, it’s something you’re just not prepared for.”

Truthfully, I think cinnamon and nutmeg might be kind of like the Shaq and Kobe of spices. Fantastic together, especially in a pie. Cinnamon is great by itself, nutmeg....is a mild hallucinogenic....

Well that doesn't make much sense.

Who started this crazy spice thread anyway?
Cloud, you must be missing a few steps in your old age. I can't believe you passed up the countless opportunities for "Curry" jokes in this thread...
