Re: Who to Blame?

DiMarco is really intense. That picture was taken in a Ryder Cup practice round after knocked a lag putt close to the hole.

NO ONE STANDS UP, EVERYONE SITS AND EATS LIKE A BUNCH OF BUMS. Maybe we should watch an Atlanta game, Utah game, or golden state game. Those are FANS! They get hyped just on about anything. They all stand up and yell DEFENSE, and make noise. Our fans sit down in triple overtime and watch and make no noise. There is no point to our home court advantage.
detroit fans do suck during the regular season. i'm there for 20 home games and even i have gotten bored of watching the same core over and over again (especially since there aren't any explosive players in the starting 5). a lot of people go there to 'be seen' and there's so much to do around the palace now that people aren't really in their seats until halfway through the 1st quarter, and halfway through the 3rd quarter.

even the playoffs has been fairly time during the 1st two rounds the past 3 years, mostly because it's obvious that detroit is the better team, and winning those series is a foregone conclusion.

but, the fans were just as loud and just as good during the ECF against cleveland and miami as they were in the finals against the spurs. the playoffs really do bring the hardcore fans, as you no longer see the majority dressed in nice clothes and going there to be seen...everyone dresses up in pistons gear and is ready to rock.

i will say, though, that the fans didn't seem as excited in the boston series. the whiteout was one of the worst ideas ever...detroit fans are smart and don't really go for the gimmicks (i actually do enjoy the thundersticks and don't view them as lame). but another thing is, the fans won't get excited unless they see the players making an effort and doing things to make them excited. and...it's almost always defensive plays that get the fans riled up. sure a maxiell throwdown will get people excited, but a maxiell block will get the crowd into a frenzy.

so, yeah the crowd sucks during the regular season, but i have to defend the playoff crowd a little bit here.

Re: Who to Blame?

Since we're talking about blame . . .

Does this article irritate anyone else?

Dwyane Wade stronger than ever, just ask Tayshaun Prince | Freep.com | Detroit Free Press

Quote:
Tayshaun Prince has never held back in his assessment of Dwyane Wade.

During the 2006 Eastern Conference finals, it was Prince who openly admitted he couldn’t defend the Heat’s explosive shooting guard, pleading publicly with his team to devise a new defensive plan.

Given how many battles Wade and Prince have had before and since those conference finals, Prince might be better qualified than anyone else on Team USA to assess the 2008 Wade.

“The way he’s playing right now is the way he was playing in ’06 against us and against Dallas,” the Pistons forward said after Team USA’s first practice in Beijing. “He’s obviously fearless going to the rim. He’s able to take body contact and finish. He’s looking great. He really has a hunger in him right now.”
Revisionist history or ?? I remember Prince questioning the defensive schemes and why Hunter didn't play, etc, but to hear it stated like that is not very encouraging (if it's not an exaggeration) . . .

Re: Who to Blame?

Wade's a guard and one of the best at getting into the paint when he's healthy. No 3 can stay in front of him.

But yeah, that article makes Prince sound like a puss.

Re: Who to Blame?

I just hope the US wins a medal so I can see Tay's forehead hit the ground when they put the medal around his neck.

Have you seen Tay lately? He's really bulked up. Probably around 126~128 lbs. now.

And he's keeping that weight on with the heavy minutes he's been playing over there? Nice.
