Who to Blame? I don't know about you guys, but your all complaining about breaking up the players, when I think that is not the cure to the problem. We used to be a 4th quarter team that dominated anyone who stood in our way. We picked it up 4th quarter no matter who we played. This is when good ol' Larry was our coach. These past losses can be blamed on many things. 1. Biggest reason, our coach. Flip was the biggest loser you could possibly hire. He looked like he was sleeping instead of coaching. I said from day one when they hired him, were not gonna win anything. We wasted valuable time, because now our stars have gotten older and are out of their prime. 2. DETROIT FANS SUCK NOW! Did you guys remember how loud are fans were, when we won the championship. Do you guys remember how the commentators were always saying wow, I cant even hear myself. Well watch a pistons playoff game now. I say we are the quietest crowd in the NBA right now. NO ONE STANDS UP, EVERYONE SITS AND EATS LIKE A BUNCH OF BUMS. Maybe we should watch an Atlanta game, Utah game, or golden state game. Those are FANS! They get hyped just on about anything. They all stand up and yell DEFENSE, and make noise. Our fans sit down in triple overtime and watch and make no noise. There is no point to our home court advantage. those are the two main reasons i think we suck now.

Mikhail is correct, a little youth running up and down the floor will inject more excitement in the crowd. A Kwame swat followed by a Josh Smith stuff would bring much noise to the Palace. However, Tay backing someone down for 12 seconds and Sheed acting like there is an invisible electric fence about 23 feet from the basket will keep everyone in their seats, yawning and extremely frustrated for another year.

Re: Who to Blame? I have been thinking about this same topic for a while now and I blame Larry Brown. I think this team went south right after the championship. In 05 Larry had his ring and lost a lot of his passion to drive the team to be better. I don't want to make it a personal attack because he had real medical issues but the result is the same. The same team that got a lot of it's drive from the coach got their complacency from him too. Larry forced Dumars to hire a coach on short notice and Flip was the best available for an elite team, he had to hire someone established at that time. Larry Brown leaving after two years also made it that much harder to get rid of Flip after a year or two. After a long string of coaching changes it would be too much turnover and too many coaches getting paid not to coach. I don't blame Flip so much because I think he is what he is, he can't push his team to be better with the force of his personality because they are stronger than he is. Flip's knowledge of basketball and his playbook might be great but he is not a leader of men in battle. Larry Brown was, without him the team relaxed. I just hope Dumars long term plan to have young guys ready to step in when the old guys fade out works or our window might close fast.

Re: Who to Blame? Couldn't agree more about our lousy fans that attend the games. And those lame thundersticks. And now the Palace has participated in a white-out.... But what can you do? Its way up in Auburn Hills, and the economy has put a crunch on the working class. Its gotten so high-brow up in there that there is no HCA against great teams anymore.
