Pistons re-sign F Walter Herrmann - NBA - Yahoo! Sports

Quote:
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP)—The Detroit Pistons re-signed forward Walter Herrmann on Monday.

“He is a player with tremendous work ethic and showed last year that he is a player that can contribute,” Pistons president of basketball operations Joe Dumars said in a statement.

The 6-foot-9, 229-pound Herrmann was acquired by the Pistons in 2007 along with Primoz Brezec in a trade that sent Nazr Mohammed to the Charlotte Bobcats.

He played in 28 games with Detroit and averaged 3 points and 1.3 rebounds in 7.1 minutes per game.

Herrmann was undrafted and signed with Charlotte as a free agent in 2006. He played six seasons in his native Argentina and four seasons in Spain.
So, what do you think Walter's role with the team will be in 08/09? (see POLL)

Re: Pistons officially re-sign Walter Hermann

Hermann will see very limited minutes unless Curry really rewards hairstyle effort. I expect him to average 3 minutes per game unless there are some injuries.

Re: Pistons officially re-sign Walter Hermann

Curry has already professed his love for spellcheck, and Joe is paying Kwame alot more than he is paying Hermann.

Barring a trade Walter is the live action practice dummy.

His only hope for meaningful PT is to take the entire frontline out for orange mocha frappacinos, goad them into a gasoline fight at the Shell station, and convince Rasheed it's time for him to light up his glaucoma medicine.

This is an OUTSTANDING assessment of Walt Herrmann's role with the team. Well done Cloud!

Re: Pistons officially re-sign Walter Hermann

I didn't see lock down defender and knock down shooter so I had to go with depth.

I would have picked cheerleader, but that category was also missing.

Clearly "unsure" is not a wrong answer.

Come on Thee - enough with the unsure stuff. Take a stand. You can just do like I do and change your mind later and then totally deny you ever said whatever it was to begin with.

Often wrong but never uncertain. My motto.

Re: Pistons officially re-sign Walter Hermann

Hermann came to the team midseason last year. With a full training camp and everyone learning a new play book I think Hermann may surprise some people. Also don't forget he can play PF and SF. So I think there will be some minutes for him. McDyess and Sheed can't log 30 plus minutes during the season.
