Well, that alternative was institutionalized over the last couple of regimes.

Larry would have played mind games, Flip would have avoided responsibility. Mike Curry may be in over his head, but if he is, it's not from lack of confidence.

Re: Amir will start at PF

this is awesome. i have no clue if amir is going to be an all-star, good player, average, disappointment, or bust. but it sends a message. from a purely basketball point of view this makes a lot of sense - we need some athleticism in the starting lineup, sheed's a good teacher, and amir/sheed complement each other very well. i'm afraid of what this will do to max's minutes, but i can see curry switching amir out early in the 1st to split time with him.

either way it's something new and exciting, and not the same-old boring starting 5. i'm actually going to be excited for attending regular season games this year.

Re: Amir will start at PF

I like the move. I don't think AJ is the next coming of Darko , but I like his athleticism and energy on the starting unit.

Dice & J-Max combined with Walter, Stuckey & Afflalo makes a nice second unit as well. I see Kwame as the odd man out with AJ starting.

I don't think AJ will be a scoring juggernaut by any stretch, but I think he'll contribute at least as much as Ben did on the offensive score sheet. I think he'll get the majority of his points from put backs down low.

Please don't ever use the D word and Amir together.

So, Sheed is definitely the starting center? I'm sure he'll be thrilled by that.

What is the alternative?
I still do like this move. And maybe with Kwame Sheed's play at the center will be limited anyway.

Sheed, Amir, and Kwame as the starting frontcourt makes the most sense to me...

I somewhat agree. Tay seems to play more aggressive when he has to be the 1st or 2nd scoring option. He defers to Rip, C-Bills, and Sheed when they are on the floor. The though of Kwame starting makes me a little uneasy though.

McDyess, Maxiel, and Kwame coming off the bench. I doubt any NBA team has 3 bigs on their bench that could match up with those 3.

Glen Davis, Leon Powe, and Brian Scalabrine? I'm joking btw.
