| What About Stackhouse???????? Just browsing through Hoopsworld this morning, it looks like Stackhouse and his agent are looking for trade possibilities. Since Rick C is moving towards a youth movement in Dallas, Stackhouse' minutes were cut and he is none to happy. He is 34, him and Sheed played together at UNC, he can be a deadly shooter off the bench, I don't know much about his defense. He may be a good person to have on the second unit since he is a pure shooter and ex-piston. I am not saying that it's a good or bad move, however, it may be something to consider since our bench is sluggish right now. How bout it????????? Last edited by armygirl : 11-18-2008 at 09:14 AM. |

| Re: What About Stackhouse???????? It's tough. But, for the sake of argument... The two spot is the deepest on the team. AI, Stuckey, and AA make a pretty good rotation with the occasional Bynum tossed in. And I think you can also argue that the three spot is the least deep. Unless you go small, there really aren't any alternatives. I never really like Stackhouse when he was here. He always seemed to have the knack of disappearing when they needed him most. But, if you want to make the team better, looking to move Rip is the best place to do that. Whether Stack would be the right player to get that done is a whole other question though.

| Re: What About Stackhouse???????? Trading the 6-time leading scorer on the team and all-star for a bench player in a reverse of the brilliant trade made years ago would be very strange. Not sure how Donnie Nelson would keep a straight face in that negotiation. On a sidenote, how bad is this picture? Work it, work it... yes, great session Dirk. ![]() |

And I've always been a charter member of the Anybody but Carolina club too. I take it all back. Dreadful trade. Bad idea. Come on AG, what are you thinking? |

I would never trade Rip for Stackhouse, ever, ever. Just saying that you need someone coming off the bench in a SG capacity that can light it up from time to time. I wouldn't care if they attended Boo Boo the Fool University, as long as they could take that 12 inch round object and put it in the hole with the big opening. (Alibi: Get your mind out of the gutter you freak a deaks.) The UNC Connection runs deep. Stackhouse and Sheed both know each other's tendencies very well, not to mention they used to light it up down at UNC. It's just like everything else, it's nice to have someone you know cover your back. For example, when we get our team to gether to go on a mission, I am always looking for those ones who I went into battle with before, they are the best persons to have on your team because of experience, past camraderie, i.e. Check out the last line in my post when I said that I was not saying whether or not it would good or bad.
