Is Rhythm the new Tired

PISTONS: Postgame Quotes - November 30, 2008

Quote:
(On his struggles) “My rhythm is not there, and this is kind of a different situation for me. I’m finally sitting more than I usually do. I think that just my rhythm is not where I want it to be. I’m positive and I have a lot of confidence it my game, and I know how to come back.”
All we used to hear was, "Tired Legs" in the Chauncey era. Please don't tell me the AI era excuse is going to be "Rhythm". I said it before, I'll say it again: Since when did the place known for manufacturing automobiles, become the centerpiece for manufacturing excuses?

Re: Is Rhythm the new Tired

Rhythm is a key with players of this team. Watching the game, A.I. barely has any rhythm because he is one of those players that is so use to playing a long time before he sits down for rest and he's sitting down more likely he has his whole career so that can throw him off his rhythm. But as one, the team doesn't look "well-oiled machine" like they should. We have to remember that we don't play an 82 game season and we don't have to practice and use to a new coach, players, and system. It's only been 16 games and we are 10-6. I can see if it was after the all-star break and were playing like we are now. We all need to relax and wait how this team is going to pull it together. Even if they don't get to the Finals again this year, we know that more change is coming. I don't think we are manufacturing excuses, they are telling what they see and if rhythm is what they know that is not there, then they are going to be let it be known that is not there and will come as time goes on.

Maybe he should just practice for 10 extra minutes after each game. Or show up for the team practices to get used to the flow of NBA action.

I don't really understand how you need rhythm on defense b/c that's where he's really struggling. Someone mentioned that at times he doesn't even make the attempt to rotate. On offense, i can understand, but at the same time AI played 40+ minutes and got his points, but a majority of the time still shot an awful % so . . .?

I concur with Tashawn that it's disturbing how much better DEN looks with essentially the same team.

This is still fixable to a point though, but it will require splitting up AI/Rip; starting Stuck and pairing AI with Arron. We won't win a championship, but at least we will stop losing to MINN's.
