How to acquire Rodney Stuckey

Draft Dave Bing # 2 overall in 1966.

Trade Bing and the 1977 #14 pick (Wayne "Tree" Rollins) for Kevin Porter.

Trade the 1975 #10 pick (Bill Robinzine) for Howard Porter.

Trade Kevin Porter, Howard Porter, and cash (origin unknown) for 1978 2nd round (#23) pick (Terry Tyler) and 1979 2nd round (#29) pick (Tony Price).

As the Kings sign Terry Tyler as a free agent, gain the right to swap (FA compensation) 1986 draft picks #17 Harold Pressley for #11 John Salley, as well as acquiring in the second round (#23) Rickie Winslow.

Trade John Salley for rights to Isaiah Morris, and 1993 first round pick (#10-Lindsey Hunter).

Sign Steve Hayes as a FA and trade to Cavs for 1986 second round pick (#27-Dennis Rodman).

Trade Dennis Rodman, Isaiah Morris, and 1996 first round pick (#18-John Wallace) to Spurs for Sean Elliott, David Wood, 1996 first round pick (#26-Jerome Williams).

Trade Sean Elliot for the rights to Bill Curley, and 1997 second round pick (#31-Charles O'Bannon).

Trade 1995 first round pick (#8-Shawn Respert) for 1995 first round pick (#18-Theo Ratliff), 1995 first round pick (#19-Randolph Childress), 1995 second round pick (#58-Don Reid).

Trade Bill Curley, and the rights to Randolph Childress for Otis Thorpe.

Trade Otis Thorpe for conditional first round pick (#2-#18) between 1998 and 2003 (Grizzlies choice) (2003 #2-Darko Milicic).

Sign Elden Campbell as a FA.

Trade Elden Campbell, and 2006 or later first round pick (lottery protected) (2006 #30-Joel Freeland) for Carlos Arroyo.

Trade Darko Milicic and Carlos Arroyo for Kelvin Cato, 2007 first round pick (top 5 protected) (#15-Rodney Stuckey).

Professional Basketball Transactions Archive

So basically Darko only cost the Pistons an aging Dave Bing, Tree Rollins, and Steve Hayes, while Stuckey only cost those same players as well as Elden Campbell and Joel Freeland.

Great. Now that the formula has been posted, every team will be able to get a Stuckey on their team.

Re: How to acquire Rodney Stuckey

I find it hilarious that Memphis ended up with that #2 pick after all.

Memphis/Vancouver did not want to give away their former picks so finally they had to hand over 2nd and it was the highest pick Memphis ever got from lottery.

Yes, and they still ended up with that #2 pick (by signing Darko).

I find it nice that Darko, as a starter lately, and Memphis, are on a roll.

Always good to see Darko do well.
