Question for those of you who have been in more than one fantasy league of the same sport in the same season.

When you draft, do you try to go with a different strategy for your other teams or at least draft different players (in case of injury, etc)?

I'm not sure what philosophy to use. What has worked for you guys? As it is, I plan to draft pretty much the same for both of my teams. Is this wise or foolhardy?

I'm assuming under the same rules too.

In an online draft your plan should be affected by the other managers picks, thus making every draft at least slightly different by definition. Draft selection order should play a part in your strategy as well. So I guess what I am trying to say is going in with the same general plan is good, just be prepared to alter it based on opportunity.

I agree. Draft position and what the other managers are doing around you really affects how your team is going to be set up. If you have the #1 pick then your strategy would be different than than the team that has the #12 pick. If there is a run on Point Guards early in the draft then you would have to get one earlier than planned or end up with 3rd tier PG's on your roster as starters.

I do it the same way. I pick my favourite players and try to play the WW and FA.

Last season, I was in two different leagues where I missed the draft on one and the other was automated. In each case I had to use the hand the hand that was dealt to me and manipulated the squad through free agency the rest of the year.

I think consumated one trade in the advance league last year dumping Starbury, but at this point cannot recall who i got for him if that player survived the season before I dumped him.

Re: Trial League News - '06-07

I use the info gained from the first draft (where players are taken) as a guide for my 2nd draft.

I try to avoid drafting too many of the same player in both leagues because of the injury factor.

As far as strategy, I let the draft dictate that. I do my prep work so I have an idea of what I want to do, but that can change really quickly during the draft.

I LOVE doing live drafts! Its a lot of fun. Especially when you know the other players, so you can do some trash talking during the draft.

I know, I have been traveling the past two weeks and have only had time to make a couple of posts here and there and not even visit the draft sight until a couple of hours ago.

Hopefully my system is in working order and I don't have any broadband failures tonight....
