| Re: Washington January 26th, 7:00PM Slippy-Cap Gone are the days when the Pistons could out execute a team down the stretch. From maybe 3 minutes to the end of the half thru the 3rd quarter, the pistons offense faltered while Washington Hibachi'd their way to a 9 pt lead. Billups transformed from flat footed facilitator to dagger dealing assassin. Both teams came alive at the end with an exciting shootout but crummy rebounding bit the team in the ass. Webber is like WD-40 on our rusty offensive gears. A little too turnover prone tonight but overall made watching the early part of the game pretty fun with good ball movement. I felt like Sheed fed off of that and abused AJ in the post in the 1st. We got to a good looking start. CB didn't have very many assists but managed 9 boards. The box score says the pistons rebounded well but it seemed like the big ones always ended up in the Wiz's hands. Dyess was hot and his jumper looked very good. Delfino was great on D and hit his shots. Between him and Tay, they neutralized Caron Butler. Lindsey was brutal. Our fast breaking was disheartening. Usually fast breaks demoralize the other team but its that negative effect. Rip was his usual bad-ass self but we can't have him carry us ALL GAME LONG. Boy we looked slow out there. At the end of the game we call a time out. coming out of that we do the usual high pick and roll to sheed for a three...brick. Man. Did we HAVE to waste that time drawing that up? I could have gotten to winter X games that much sooner. the Lameness of that play is off the chart. I was thinking we'd see the Minny-esque heroics but The Pistons took care of that quite soundly. I feel like I'm rooting for a first round middling team.

| Re: Washington January 26th, 7:00PM First half impressions.... Webber and Sheed started off very well. Early on, the big question was if the Pistons would control tempo or get caught up in the Wizards style. They got caught up in the Wizards game. Antawn Jamison was great against Sheed, putting up 18 points in the first half. Antonio McDyess had a superb 2nd quarter, scoring 11 points. Going into the half, the Pistons were up 48-46. But no Jmax or Dale Davis left Detroit without a hold on this game.

| Re: Washington January 26th, 7:00PM Damn that last shot should have been Chauncey. He was cooking in the fourth quarter, 3-3 from beyond the arc. I hope Detroit wins in Washington on Tuesday and get their revenge. Detroit has fallen to number 2 in the east now... |

| Re: I don't understand.... It's one game and we missed some free throws that bit us in the butt. The last play was bad, but if it went down, we would all be singing a different tune. I'm particularly cheesed with Chauncey who needs to campaign to run an end of game play for Rip. I'm also a little disappointed we put in CWebb and didn't involve him.

If this was Flip's idea, then yes indeed he needs to be shipped back to Gopher land. The personnel on this team is to good to have it screwed up by Flips rotations and inconsistent time outs. He played the starters for nine minutes in the 3rd before making a substitution. By that time the Wiz had gone up 9 and had enough in the bank to eventually win out despite our comeback. | Re: Washington January 26th, 7:00PM f you Flip. I'm freakin' serious. If you don't know how to manage one of the best rosters in the east (maybe the best) and hand minutes to every decent player on the roster (that includes JMax, Davis, AJ and even FlipM) than you don't deserve to be the headcoach of the Detroit PISTONS. I know I'm emotional but I don't care. I can't stand his "play the starters as much as possible and avoid finding rotations that can get it done and that don't include the starting unit" any more. I'm tired about a coach that says X and acts Y. I'm not angry about the loss. I don't care. I'm angry that FlipS refuses to play the gems this team has. Angry that he's certainly unable to play anyone elese then the starting 5. Angry that he continues making the same failures since he became coach. Angry that he refuses to learn. Angry that he keeps being too nice to his beloved guys (CB, RIP, Sheed especially) Put me on that bash- Flip bandwagon. If that post is too emotional, forgive me please. I'm just tired of complaining about the same things since the season started.
