Carolina (no matter what you hear in the media) IS NOT INTERESTED. Chicago could be a front runner, but their team is not as good as the Pack. Bucs could be first in line with all the ties to Gruden, WCO and so on.

I didn't know that. That would help to explain his waffling about retiring...he loves football, but has no desire to coach.

Pack won't release him. He can be back-up.
He's like every other tired vet. - wants to skip 3 a days.

Re: Brett Favre Retires

That's another misnomer. You don't pay a QB $12M a year to backup a guy who hasn't hardly played, just as you don't sit Billups at the end of the bench for Rodney before the season started last year. Strahan skipped training camp, and he played just fine. Favre knows that offense inside out after 17 years. He just needs to be in shape.

Re: Brett Favre Retires

I am leaning toward backing Favre on this. The Packers have been trying to force Favre out the last 3 years. Why draft a QB with a first round pick when you got Favre at the time still on contract for another 6 years? Favre has earned the right to play as long as he wants too.

If I was Green Bay, I'd be open to trading Brett to even a team in their division. Instead of ebay, call it gBay. I bet winner of Chicago and the Vikings would grossly overpay, where they suffer the consequences for the next 18 years. Or better yet, trade him to the Lions. They couldn't win even if they had Brett. It would be a win win solution for Green Bay if the Lions won gBay.

Gary Danielson, Eric Hipple, Scott Mitchell, Joey Harrington, Brett Favre....no that wouldn't work.
