Re: Brett Favre Retires

Good timing. He went out with a nice showing. He's not injured.

Agree with this. The Lions might actually win a game at Lambeau now.

Is Favre the best QB ever? It's worth discussing. He has three MVPs. Joe Montana might come up for sure, but could Montana throw the long ball like Favre? Montana threw all those short balls and mid-range balls.

Marino? No ring but a great arm.

Brady? Jury's still out.

Bradshaw? Great arm and a great leader. Now a goofball.

Staubach? Aikman? Young? Unitas? Others?

Favre seemed to LOVE the game more than anyone else.

Re: Brett Favre Retires

It's a little weird that he wasn't at the press conference. Announcing your retirement via Chris Mortensen's voice mail seems like an anti-climactic way for a player that great to bow out.

Remember Barry Sanders retirement notice? I don't think he even notified the Lions. He just faxed a letter to the Wichita Eagle.

Re: Brett Favre Retires

Yeah, I do remember that. Those weird anti-climactic retirements are pretty rare, so they tend to be memorable!

Re: Brett Favre Retires

ESPN dedicated most of their day to Favre so if decides to unretire, then they either wasted a full day of praise or they will be responsible for bringing him back.

Re: Brett Favre Retires

And so the era of Aaron Rodgers complete domination of a team begins!

Re: Brett Favre Retires

Now he has time to appear in the sequal or spin off to "There's Something about Mary" called "There's Something about Faarvere" Or "Green Bay is no Country for old QB's"
