For every good play Hermann makes we're lucky if it replaces his bad ones at a good %. The problem with relying on bad bench players is they get exposed when you actually play great teams in the PO's. Hermann's defense will get eaten alive when it matters. Is Curry planning on putting him on LBJ, Pierce?, etc. Playing Aaron reaps the benefits of a good defender who will get comfortable with his shot, and at this point is still a better scorer than Hermann. But hey it's cute for a win or two in March. KB's post defense is also an asset, but when he's playing like an idiot you have to know when to take him out. Curry's biggest problem is that when things are going wrong he sits on his hands. I'd rather be developing an effective PO strategy than "getting by". We took 31 more shots than ORL and won by 4 with their starting PG and SF out. Not diminishing the win b/c we didn't have Sheed and we showed heart, but keeping it in perspective. Those rebounding advantages won't always be there. It's like the last two years when we've played ORL well and then faced teams that were actually good in CLE/BOS. edited to add; maybe the trick to getting PT from Curry as a bench player is to be overall really bad so when you do something good it's 10x more exciting and seems like a much bigger deal. | Re: Orlando Magic March 9th, 7:30 PM Now do u see why everytime these guys bring up stats , i break out my ice pick!! ![]() Walter was a momentum changer in this one, if for nothing else he makes the team laugh. Kinda of like a more atheletic Chuck Nevitt, u know. Then he says Dyess' performance was TOO good. Lawd, help me. Three very inspirational wins in the last week and not a bad loss in Atlanta. Heres a DYK: The Pistons have a 4-0, 7-0, and 5-1 streak this year. Thats 16-1 in those games and 16-29 in the rest. Have THE REAL pistons stood up? Like ive said, the only stats that matter to me are W and L's.

Rip must have had some big touches tonight, and offensively this can get you into trouble in the playoffs as routine follows the past season as habit. The key for me about this Orlando club, is Hedo Turkoglu. He has been in a big slump. Hope he stays that way. In playing Orlando in the playoffs...becareful what you wish for. Nelson being out has made this a shadow team. I guess this might point out to most, how important an open-ended PG makes a huge difference. Big mistake on the GM side in not getting an adequate replacement. |
