I guess I should have asked: "Does this guy really want to play for us?"

Here's a little quote from his handlers:

Quote:
"We always support our players in joining high-quality overseas leagues," said vice president Hu Jiashi, who added it was important for Yi to get a lot of playing time.

"If he is going to be stuck on the bench, it would be better if he stayed at home."

I think our window is closing so our run for the title reasoning will have to be scrutinized and a more developmental approach should be considered.

Have to toot my horn on this one. This was the cat I told everybody about long before he got drafted (thanx to my peeps in NJ).

This may be a good year to nab a rook or two. By all accounts this is a deep draft. For grins, I'll throw out two names. Josh McRoberts and Hasheem Thabeet. Thats assuming we don't need a PG.

I don't think we'll draft a PG unless its a no brainers type.

Re: IDEAS for 2007 DRAFT PICK...

The chance of getting a quality PG later in the draft are much better than getting solid big (of course there are exceptions)... If we get a chance to draft 6 -15 it should be for a center (yes Darko could end up better than what we end up with)... I'd like to see a 7'er that you can dump it down to and he knows what to do with it... he should also mobile on D.

Re: IDEAS for 2007 DRAFT PICK...

If we get a late first rounder (maybe mid to late) the guy I want us looking at is Acie Law. He's the point guard for Texas A&M. His shooting numbers were down last year, but he's a great leader, quick with the ball end to end, and an excellent penetrator.

No way knowing what we'll do this early, of course, and if I had to bet I would say we won't have both picks come draft time (either ours or Orlando's will be traded).
