They pick him and build around him. Why not? What was Barry thinking?

Portland and Seattle win the Oden/Durant sweepstakes

Blazers get the #1 pick, Sonics #2, Hawks #3. Memphis and Boston both failed to get any of their ping-pong ball combinations drawn, so they fell to the 4th and 5th picks. Portland will have an awful lot of young talent to build on once Oden gets into town. As for Seattle, does Durant's likely arrival mean that Rashard Lewis might be more likely to head somewhere else this off-season via free agency?

Depends on the offers they get.

This was the 1st draft I saw since 2003. Actually I listened to it on the radio. Dumars would have saved us all a lot of trouble if he had taken the #2 envelope, poured lighter fluid over it and set it on fire.

Re: 2007 draft lottery

Grizzlies have an Oden draft party where thousands of fans show up at the arena. They leave the arena with the same result that happens most of the season ...with a loss. I mean the fourth pick will be great, but with Gasol and Oden they could have have won more games than the Memphis State Tigers Also the lose Jerry West so not a good end of the season for the Grizzzzz

What about Seattle? Durant, Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis. Three ball contest anyone? A lot of dazzle and scoring.

Seattle is a complete mystery. Lenny hasn't said anything about players, coaches or personnel for nearly a month. Rashard is a free agent, and Ray may be on the block. (maybe. the Sonics ain't talkin)

Should be interesting to see what they do.

Here's a link to an excellent blog on the Sonics, if anyone is interested:

Supersonicsoul: The unofficial blog of the Seattle Supersonics. Seriously.

They were saying something about them moving to Oaklahoma now. I suppose a lot would depend on that.

The Sonics will be moving in the next year of so... no doubt about that. Where they are going is up in the air right now. The owners are from OKC, and are using that as a negotiating chip to get a shiny new stadium and better concession stand percentages.

Although the Oklahoma fans were really nice to the Hornets, it's a pretty small market, and those people don't buy enough beer, jerseys, and foam cowboy hats and fingers to make the move profitable.

They may remain the Seattle Sonics, but play in Renton or another suburb.

Re: 2007 draft lottery

Where's Zach Randolph going now that the Blazers will snag Oden?
You know both Chicago and NY are chompin at the bit, (not to mention what Pat Rileys really thinking).

The Bulls would love to figure out a way to get Randolph on the blocks.

I'd like to be sitting in the back of a sports bar in Boston right now.
