While Stuckey would be thrilled to go just about anywhere, his dream destination is Detroit. The Pistons were one of the first teams to scout Stuckey. Former personnel director Scott Perry, now with Seattle, watched Stuckey as a freshman when Eastern Washington played at Cal State Fullerton.
"It's my style of play, and they've compared me to a Chauncey Billups-type guard," Stuckey said. "I'm a big guard [6-foot-5], and they need a backup point guard. I can learn from the best people: Rip Hamilton, Chauncey, Flip Saunders and Joe Dumars. It's a great organization. It's perfect for me."
The Pistons see Stuckey as a player similar to Dumars and Lindsey Hunter: someone from a small school who plays with an edge. Dumars and Hunter played at McNeese State and Jackson State, respectively.

Re: Rodney Stuckey

I am all for getting him, but he actually has to be Chauncey's backup. He can't only play 2-3 minutes and Flip M. can't be ahead of him in the rotation.

If we get Stuckey then it gives the Pistons more options in free agency. The Pistons could get a PG or a SG, and Stuckey would move to the backup position that the Pistons don't have since he is a combo guard.

So if the Pistons get a PG in free agency Stuckey can backup Rip

If the Pistons get a backup SG then Stuckey can back up CB, if he resigns here.

He better be good enough to be a 15th pick though. If he is not the best guard available at that point then the Pistons should not get him.

I'm really hoping Flip is gone or the backup at 2 guard.

Re: Rodney Stuckey

If we come out of this draft with Stuckey and Byars/Almond, man I'd be ecstatic. Then I'd atcually lobby for bringing in Grant Hill, and have him split mins with Tayshaun. While Tay technically would still be the starter he'd log the most mins with the 2nd unit. Imagine a lineup of:
1-Stuckey
2-Almond or Byars
3-Tayshaun
4-Max
5-Amir
That's alot of young talent on the floor that has the chance to gel together over time. Add in a few more future draft picks, a solid MLE move and a 2008 Rasheed Wallace trade (he'll be in the final year of his contract) and we're in business baby.

Re: Rodney Stuckey

The Pistons could also get someone good at #57, hopefully someone falls.
