| Fun'n Gun Basketball I read this at Hoopsworld and thought it was an interesting insight into WHY Fun'n Gun doesn't work against teams with the ability to score and defend (Detroit/SA).
But it also makes a strong point for agressive play being the new "defense". Pad a points lead and hope it can last through crunch time. http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_16802.shtml Quote: |
In winning time, basketball games tend toward a pace like baseball or football. Stop. Huddle up. Run a play. Stop. Shoot free throws. Stop. Sub in a player or two. Stop. The small team, even a very talented one, then loses its up-and-down advantage. Unlike midway through a game, down the stretch the bigger team can better set up matchups, lock in, push its defense out to the arc, get a hand way up, stay organized for block-out responsibilities. The small team needs the night’s floodgates to open wide, creating enough cushion in the score. If not, it can have trouble winning.
