Barkley for Governor?

I've always liked Sir Charles, but for Governor? LOL. Well, he WIll speak his mind and if Arnold can do it, why not Charles?

Hey, it's Alabama. It makes perfect sense!

"I was a Republican until they lost their minds," he said earlier this month.

(I found this amusing but wasn't sure if this was green room stuff or general NBA stuff...feel free to move it).

Re: Barkley for Governor?

I'd vote for Charles. The Terminator, The Body, The Round Mound of Rebound. Welcome to American politics.

I'd vote for him too. He's a common sense and no BS guy with a great sense of humor. I'd like to see him run for president someday...I'm sure his 'state of the union' speaches would be memorable.

Maybe he could get Mahorn as his running mate...campaign slogan...Thump N' Bump!

Re: Barkley for Governor?

Barkley is an idiot. Needless to say, that qualifies him to be a succesful political candidate for something.

He may someday be a Governor, however, I doubt very seriously if it will be the state of Alabama!!!!!!!!

Re: Barkley for Governor?

I would prefer to see Sir Charles in charge of something important.

Like the food and drug administration...
Quote:
Ernie Johnson, on Reggie Evans being caught grabbing the rocks of Chris Kaman: "(Reggie Evans) got caught with his hand in the cookie jar."

Charles Barkley: "Ernie, I don't know where you get your cookies at but the rest of us don't get ours there."
or foreign affairs...
Quote:
At a press conference before the Dream Team played Angola: "I don't know anything about Angola, but I know they're in trouble."
or maybe as a press secretary
Quote:
When David Letterman asked if he was looking forward to attending All Star weekend, Charles replied "I am now. I was supposed to go hunting with Dick Cheney."

Re: Barkley for Governor?

He probably could not do any worse. We need more non-lawyers in politics.

I didn't mean it like that. 90 whatever pct of politicians seem to be lawyers. Nothing in the consitution stating that you need a law degree to lead.
