NBA official suspended 3 games without pay

NBA official Rodney Mott was suspended 3 games without pay for making an obscene jesture toward a fan and also using inappropriate language Sunday in Portland.

Does this penalty fit the crime?

I think he should have been suspended more than 3 games. He should have gotten 6 games or more without pay. The officials should have a higher standard than the players. Stern would like us to think that is the case sense no one can question a refs call and the league never admits that one of their officials got a call wrong.

If this was a player that was not on Stern's X-mas list he would have gotten fined anywhere from 25K to 75K and would probably be suspended 2 or 3 games which would bring the punishment amount to a couple hundred thousand dollars.

This didn't have to come out at all. Just think about that for a minute.

Is Stern good or what?
