O'neal or Garnett?

I asked this in chat when the Pacer game was winding down. Thought it would be a good topic.

First, who do you think will leave their respective team first?

2nd, if the Pistons had a chance at either one of them, who would you get?

3rd, who would be cheaper? or really the better value?

1st, I think that O'Neal will be gone before KG. The Pacers are going nowhere but down and Bird I think will do something to not let it get to the place that the TWolves have gone. Carlisle is not looking good, but LB will probably keep him due to the fact that he is a good coach, just doesn't have the personnel. I feel he'll do what JD did with GHill and move him to rebuild before the house crashes.

2nd, O'Neal is a younger Rasheed IMO and will pick up where 'Sheed left off when he leaves or is moved. Garnett is superior, but this answers my 3rd question---O'neal is the better value. Maybe the 7-9th best PF, but will be good enough for what we need.

Re: O'neal or Garnett?

Garnett will be traded first.

I wouldn't want either of them. Two of the most overrated players in the game, and two that are impossible to build around even were they not paid like superstars.

Re: O'neal or Garnett?

Great rebounder, good defender, great finisher, good midrange jumpshooter, good high-post passer, adequate slasher (but usually settles for jumpshots), oh yes, and he has virtually no low-post scoring game and chokes like Malone or Webber under pressure.

He will put up great numbers but he's simply not a high-impact player, and if a player is going to earn 40% of the soft cap by himself I would hope that he's dominant in a way Kevin Garnett simply lacks the ability to be.

He can whine and cry and talk all the smack he likes, but at the end of today a respectable roster of role players is 31-and-43.
