Cavs are soft in crunch time

ESPN.com: TrueHoop

A few weeks ago I was talking to an executive from an Eastern Conference team on the phone and he asked me: "Why does LeBron stand out on top of the the key and dribble so much? You know, that's exactly what we all want him to do."
Then again, Lebron doesn't care who wins or loses. As long as his Nike check came.

Re: Cavs are soft in crunch time

Well, LeBron also acknowledged that he was coasting quite a bit, and in addition Cavs don't have anyone else who can create a shot for himself or someone else. I also think the point about the style that they are playing is valid. They would be better in the running game more so than the grind-it-out half-court.

He is still way too young for this kind of responsibility. Hits home when he realizes the difference between Lebran land and reality. You can't just come into the league and coast through the playoffs.

Give him a few years, we won't be calling him a choker then. May have to change teams though as the Cavs seem content with the way things are.

LeBron needs help on that Cavs team. I hope he gets some better players. I like the fact that he'll stay with Cleveland, instead of leaving for La La land.................

He needs to learn hoe to hit his FT consistently. Then, he can attack the basket get fouled and make his FT.

Now, it`s almost like he is afraid to attack because he has no confidence in his FT shooting, so he settles for that J, from anywhere........

Cavs are making changes. Or so they say...

Beacon Journal | 04/11/2007 | Cavs rethink late-game plays

Quote:
"LeBron's more dangerous with the basketball, but I've got to make sure that I put him on the back side of things more than I've been doing,'' Brown said. ``If he's got the ball on the front side of the play, it makes it easier for the other teams to load up on him. When we do react, we get great looks. When we don't and try to make up our own thing, it makes it tougher on us and him.''

Re: Cavs are soft in crunch time

LeBron's release is too high and to the side of his eye line. It helps him get the ball off without getting blocked, but the sacrifice is accuracy.

Just look at his eFG on jumpshots- 39%. That is terrible.

CBill is 46%
Kobe is 47%

On top of that, he takes a ton of jumpers. 66% of his shots are from the perimeter.

So, it's not just free throws. Also, I think that he is 0 for 13 on three pointers this year with < 2 minutes in a game that is within 3 points.

Mr. Little Shot.

Just keep him from getting to the rim.
