Re: Carlisle Canned

This firing might be the best thing that ever happened to Carlisle. His ability to maximize limited talent is well-documented, and he's better than the usual retread. I can see a lot of teams going after him.

Now Bird is the last "Malice at the Palace" domino waiting to fall.

I think we could find a whiter guy if he was the uncola.

Ok, it's an old commercial, but hopefully some of you got it.

Uncola sounds like a mafioso name for a family member.

Oh, he meant the trade. I thought he meant the firing of Rick.

I am going to state for the record that I don't believe race had anything to do with the firing of Rick Carlisle.

Re: Carlisle Canned

ESPN has a helpful overview of all the coaching vacancies here. I expect Carlisle to have a new job soon, maybe even before the draft. How about Sacramento?

Also, the Grizzlies just got permission to talk to this guy.

White-on-white termination is surprisingly widespread, particularly in the corporate world. It is America's secret shame.

Re: Carlisle Canned

Never much of a Carlisle backer... but honesetly Bird & Walsh should fire themselves before RC... they are the biggest culprits... they obviously didn't do background checks on these characters... then they try to solve it by having a fire sale... and they gave up a pick to boot.
Then there's the crazy amount of injuries that left RC with just better than D-League talent.
That being said Carlisle needs to go to offense 101.
