CLEVELAND (AP) -- Maybe LeBron James stepped over the line with his allegiance to the New York Yankees.
A day after the Indians routed the Yankees 12-3 in their AL playoff opener Thursday night, the buzz around town wasn't about Cleveland's offensive power surge or pitcher C.C. Sabathia's gutty performance.
Instead, fans jammed sports talk radio lines and Internet message boards, crying foul over their frustration with the NBA superstar's traitorous appearance in the stands wearing a Yankees cap.
"The guy is the face of Cleveland sports and he's not even rooting for a team that's 100 feet from the building he plays in," said Adam Burke, who was waiting outside the left-field gate for Game 2 on Friday.

So he's from Ohio, near Cleveland and he's not an Indians fan? Lame.

Yeah he will head to NY to cheer the Yanks and hang out with his buddy JAY Z and maybe roll with the Kidd on JAY-Z's Nets team.

Yeah, and then maybe he won't feel like he has to do the JAY-Z hand sign constantly. On Saturday Night Live last night he just had to do that dumb JAY-Z triangle thing. What is it with him and JAY-Z? I mean JAY-Z doesn't do that handsign as much as LeBron does. It's very irritating. Just be an NBA guy LeTravel. It's okay. Really, it is.

There are more Yankee fans all over the baseball world than us Yankee haters would care to think about.

The Indians haven't exactly been America's team for most of the time that Lebron has been alive, so his being a Yankee fan doesn't surprise me at all. In fact his identifying with a classic on the the field winning organization says a lot about what his aspirations are rather than identifying with the Indians.

However, his wearing the Yankee hat to the game was definitely lame.

Well, we're talking about the high school kid with no college education and loads of money. LeBron is just lame, period.
