Heat and Hawks do over...the last 51.9 of a game the Hawks won on 12/19 will be played over because of a scoring error fouling Shaq out on his 5th foul instead of his sixth... Riles thinks that if they win, then he might grab the 8th seed.

I just saw that. So strange, never saw a game replayed. Gives Miami an advantage in the playoff seeding, I'll agree with that, Dre.

Re: 2007-08 general league thread (non-Pistons)

Bill Walton went back in time tonight by recalling this unusual instance of a replayed game:

NBA.com: This Date in History-November

Quote:
November 8, 1978

The Philadelphia 76ers and the New Jersey Nets began a game where the final 17:50 of the contest was replayed on March 23, 1979, due to a protest being upheld. Harvey Catchings and Ralph Simpson played for the 76ers and Eric Money and Al Skinner played for the Nets when the game began, but were traded to the opposing teams by the time the game was resumed. It's the only time in the history of professional sports that any player played for both teams in the same game.
Those are some Old Skool names there, before my time, but probably recalling fond memories for HQ and Dre. I think Money and Simpson both played for the Pistons around that time as well.

On ESPN's NBA pregame tonight, Stephen A. Smith said that the rumblings around Cleveland are that LeBron is already laying the groundwork for leaving the Cavs after the 2009-10 season, which is when he can opt out of his current contract. Maybe he'll head off to Brooklyn to play for his boy Jay-Z; that's right around the time that the Nets will be moving into their new arena.

Maybe by that time Cavs would be able to gather a half-decent supporting cast around LBJ. Otherwise, why would he stick around? The team around him is dreadful. Nazr managed to put in 6 pts and 3rbs in a few minutes in the 1st quarter as Charlotte is leading 37-35 after 1.

Maybe we can swap some vets at that time and send %%%%%%%%, Old Spice (dice), Ripped Hamilton, and 2 draft picks for Lebron. Then we build Stuckey, afflollo, Max, AJ and Samb around him with Sheed and Billups coming off the bench as our OLD vets.

Re: 2007-08 general league thread (non-Pistons)

Those darn Nets collapse in the 4th qtr and allow the Celtics to close out the game on 26 to 9 run as the league # 1 defense did it's job holding the nets scoreless for what looked like an eternity and KG and Pierce were sitting on the bench when the defense stepped up. Coild have been 2 losses in a row for the C's and their only excuse this time would have been the Rajon was out...C' win 86-77 after trailing 68-60 when I tuned in.
