I didn't see any of that game, but man, how pathetic are the Nets...from the AP recap:

Quote:
The Nets left a lot of points on the free-throw line where they were 9-for-24. New Jersey also struggled from the floor in the final quarter, going 3-for-19.

In the fourth, Boston scored 13 consecutive points without Garnett or Pierce on the floor to take a 76-70 lead. The Celtics went ahead for good at 71-70 on a fastbreak layup by Glen Davis with 7:55 remaining.
Dre, the boxscore says Rondo played 22 minutes.

He must have went down with a back injury before I tuned in to it at the end of the third as the Nets announcers were saying that it was remarkable that they were able to moved the ball around with Rondo being out with a strained back.

The Bobcats thru away one too in double Ot to the Cavs as Labron and Damon Jones led the OT onslaught and the Cats went cold in the 2nd OT. Raymond Felton went down with a high ankle strain in the last seconds of the 2nd OT so he may not be available for tomorrows clash with the Pistons. With the two OT's the Pistons may have caught a break.

Boston goes cold in the 4th quarter and loses to Washington. That was an interesting game, I guess. Is Boston hitting a wall? Entering dog days? They haven't looked good since beating Pistons.

No real point guard tonight as Rondo is out..despite their good defense they are still turnover prone (19 tonight) and oh yeah the wizards were 27-30 from the FT line
So much for 70 victories...

Interesting stat just shown during the Magic-Jazz game. The top 5 players in the league so far this season for total points scored in 4th quarters include LeBron, DWade, Baron Davis, Deron Williams, and...Hedo Turkoglu.

Not on the list: Flip Murray.

I second that. I don't know what's going on. They're surprisingly root worthy.

Re: 2007-08 general league thread (non-Pistons)

Clippers had a 2 point lead over the Mavs with 27.5 seconds left with the ball, but dumb Tim Thomas (who the Clipper announcers had just annointed star of the game) takes a stupid shot with 10 seconds left for no apparent reason and the Mavs grab the rebound. All he could do was say my fault after he took it. Well these are the Clippers...Stackhouse hits a three ball with no time on the clock to win it 95-94.

Tim Thomas is going to get somebody fired...he shoots with reckless abandon and the Clippers are 0 for 2008 after being in everygame down to the wire...

Re: 2007-08 general league thread (non-Pistons)

Another game tonight where the refs give the nod in the end to the "elite" team and the struggling team gets rooked. In this case the Lakers survive a 14-0 run by the Grizzlies in the 4th and with a one point lead and 7 seconds left the refs swallow their whistle as Kyle Lowry drives to the hoop and is fouled by Kwame Brown, but the refs let it roll as the basket is missed and last second 3 ball attempt by the Grizz is also long. Even the Laker announcers admit that a foul should have been called, but their not going to complain as the Lakers get their sixth straight and along with the Mavs are the only team perfect for 2008.
