| Re: Meaningless stats?? We are 10-6, last year at this time we were 11-5, so need to panic yet, but a disturbing trend already seems to be wagging its tail here. This year we are already starting a pattern here...one positive and one negative.
First the negative >>Four Sundays, four losses...and we have not scored over 86 points in any of those losses. In fact the Pistons have only broken 90 points in only one of those six losses.
Last season from Feb 20th to April 9th, the Pistons lost six straight Wednesday games..and that curse was finally stopped with a Wednesday win over the Cavs on April 16th. The Pistons were 16-9 from 2/20 to 4/9 with six of the nine losses on Wednesdays.
So far this year 10-6 with four of the six losses on Sundays. What does this mean?? Are they having to much fun on Saturday nights? In all of the Sunday games it appears that some of the key team members fail to come out with any effort or energy.... Do they need to go to church on Sunday morning instead of a full workout practice? Should they go to a Saturday evening service?? We got another one next Sunday to think about in NYC..hopefully they can end the curse and win one for Dyess' return.
The positive stat.....9-0 when they score over 100 points. They scored 96 points vs the Cavs in the only win with out hitting 100. Does this mean we need to score 100 to win, no , (well maybe), but I think we need more than the average of 82 points that been put up in those six losses. Maybe 92 or so....
How are they going to get there? By hitting at least 47% of their shots, getting into the paint more often so that are able to get to the line more than 25 times a game. (That is what I heard MC say when they got AI). Limiting TO's and playing defense better to create TO's and then converting them into points like they use to do in the middle of this decade....
