Re: The Big Cactus

The Marion4Snaq and Harris4Kidd deals may both go down in history as some of the biggest trade boners of all time. Personally, I'm taking some satisfaction that Shrek and Kidd have been moved to the WC and the EC got younger and maybe greater talent in return. The current WC-EC talent disparity will get equalized and/or reversed little-by-little...

Re: The Big Cactus

I think everyone who supported the trade for Phoenix was/is somehow convincing themselves that the Suns were getting the Shaq of two years ago, when the Heat won the title. He wasn't what he was with the Lakers, of course, but he could still dominate one or two games in a playoff series, like when he had 28 pts and 16 boards in Game 6 when the Heat finished off the Pistons in the ECF.

But he can't do that AT ALL anymore, as anyone who's had their eyes open for the last year and a half can recognize. There's certainly no way he can contribute at that level at any point against any elite team.

Re: The Big Cactus

The real mind-blower is that the Suns chose a guy that would kinda force them to change everything they have been...seems like a lotta wishful thinking and/or desperation on Kerr's part.

It's so ironic. Marion is unhappy w/ the losing with the heat. I remember a quote where he said "it hurts his heart" or something like that, and Steve Nash looks so confused at times like he's wondering who to pass to, and trying to remember if Marion was out with an injury that day then he realizes he's not on the team anymore, and looks sad LOL

Very true. I enjoy being in a weaker conference somewhat but whats been happening the past few years is a disgrace. At least we have the 2 best teams this year but distractors can point to the inferior talent as the reason.
