I would allow up to 3 teams in the superior conference as replacements for sucky teams in the other conference. ...

I would allow up to 3 teams in the superior conference as replacements for sucky teams in the other conference. This season, they would take 3 WC teams and award them the bottom 3 rungs in the EC bracket........

And let's assume that EC is weaker and then some WC teams will find that it would be much better not to fight for a top seed so you could get finally weaker PO opponents from east.

I just realized that we can lose out the season and make the playoffs.

If we lose the next 26 games, we'd end the season at 41-41. Since the last playoff spot is currently occupied by a team well below .500, we would for sure get in.

No wonder it's tough for Sheed to motivate against mediocre teams. This is all very meaningless. I'll still watch though.
