I think a lot of guy's are protecting there pocket books on this one.

Stern would have had a heart attack. Imagine about 150 players just came out and said "yes to marijuana".

Stern doesn't care. If he did there would be more testing. The league only cares about hardcore drugs narcotics/ steroids.

However, Stern won't tollerate the league being embrassed. Guy's openingly talking about getting high doesn't help the image he is trying to peddle to his high class wine and chesse crowd. NBA players know Stern will protect the image of the league at all costs.

My 2 cents on the subject:

Cent #1: Really bad timing

Cent #2: Marijuana should be legalized (No, I don't smoke it), just like prostitution should be (No, I've never used one). Legalizing them both would make them safer & would make financial sense for the government. They could then be taxed and it would free up a lot of resources - space in the prisons, time in the court room & focus of law enforcement on more serious offenses.

Bonus Off Topic Cent: The U.S. and Canada should get rid of the 1 cent coin.

The penny is only worthless because the government constantly inflates the money supply to deficit spend. The further you get from the penny, the closer you are to what is happening in Zimbabwe.

In August of 2007, they issued their first $200,000 bill.

In January this year, they issued their first $10,000,000 bill.

We need our governments to show some restraint and use an intelligent monetary policy.

This will probably blow over. I don't see many more millionaires coming out and potentially compromising their careers.

Howard has been bricking everything since this weed business went public, but he was already missing like crazy in the first couple of games of the series, so naybe it's not making much of a difference either way. He's shooting 15-58 from the floor in this series, which is 26%...yikes.

Maybe he needs a little something to calm his nerves.
