Dwyane Wade - MVP?

I just looked up Wade's stats, because he's blocked 10 shots this week. I thought maybe he would be going after Sheed's notorious 100 blocks/100 treys mark.

But look at this.

Wade is shooting over 50%, with 28.9 PPG, 7.8 assists, 2.4 steals, 5.0 rebs and 2.0 blocks.

His blocks, steals, assists, points and FG% are all career highs.

I know it is only 13 games, but who has been better than this?

Oh yeah, he does this all in less than 37 minutes. And he hasn't even made 100 3Ps in his career yet. I guess Sheed is safe.

Great stats so far. Stuckey has his work cut out for him.

Me.

Wade's a stud. This is a basketball forum, so I would imagine other folks are interested too.

I really wanted him on my fantasy team, but when I drew the last pick...

I was thinking how Wade is playing out of his mind too. Last night at my son's b-ball game we were discussing Wade. He is by far the leading candidate for MVP right now.

I like Wade. Played like a monster against us in the ECF a few years ago. I had to look up Miami's record, cus they're off my radar for now.
Can an MVP candidate play for a .500 team? Can Amir be in the top 5 for votes...

Re: Dwyane Wade - MVP?

I expect Wade to go down in the middle of the season. His playing style, his incredibly physique and his history of injuries make him a injury- prone player who'll end up in a McGrady like fashion.
Yeah, he could have been a Piston, that's hard to think about. But even Arnie wouldn't have been able to keep him injury- free. Unless he develops a really good jumper, he has no other choice than going to the hoop like a psycho.

Re: Dwyane Wade - MVP?

Those are some pretty awesome stats. Too bad he was already off the board when Joe D. picked up Darko.

Re: Dwyane Wade - MVP?

I thought wade would be competitive in MVP voting when I saw him in the Olympics, he's having an absolutely insane season, and it's unfortunate that the Heat are in a bit of rebuilding cycle. Talk about waste of talent.
