Good Hogcap.

From what I remember Sheed didn't even leave his feet on that last "foul". And the call on Chauncey was questionable...a makeup call?

Woodsen wasn't happy about it.

There were a few head scratchers, as usual. Refs won't get 'm all correct.

Smith did lean into Sheed a bit to draw the foul, but I definitely remember Sheed leaving his feet on that play. I also thought there was plenty of contact on the last call that CB got.

The worst refereeing of the night was on the two plays where Rip got his 5th and 6th fouls. Those were both horrible calls.

I Wonder if he lost a little respect from the Refs with all of those techs he racked up last year.

I'd say calls on Rip were borderline ticky-tack. There is enough contact on virtually every play to call a foul. At least those were not of the phantom variety.

Rip's 6th foul was ridiculous. The Atlanta guy grabbed his arm and pulled him...and Rip gets the foul.

On the last huddle before CB sank the winning free throw..did anyone hear Sheed yell, ""Let me take it", or something like that as they broke the huddle? Maybe that type of thing is what get's him the publicity about calling his own plays.

Maybe that's what it is, but unfortunately Sheed has been pretty bad for the Pistons taking the last shot (other than that lucky heave against Denver). I don't think the team would want him with the ball in the final moments of the game. He's not been making good decisions out there with the ball.

IMO, none of the foul calls were as egregious as the over-the-back take down of J-Max that left him laying on the floor with the foul called on him.

That one was upsetting for sure.

Re: Atlanta Nov 4 7:30PM

I think both sides could have felt ripped off with some of the calls.

The Sheed call was weak b/c the offensive player was initiating the contact, but it was not really an incorrect call.

On the Chauncey call, there wasn't much contact and it was a pretty clean block, until after the shot when the defender seemed to pull CB to the ground. Not sure how we'd feel about that one if it were Wade getting the call for game winning FT's.

But yeah, the JMax one was the worst.

Also, we seemed to get very lucky in the 4th quarter with Atlanta shots that were in, but somehow popped out.

Bottom line: the better team won.
