(1) You listed 16 guys and removed about 6 who probably won't be there. So that leaves 10. OK, so do I understand it correctly to mean that each team can only send 2 guys and so only 6 total can be on the team?

(2) Are the games 48 minutes? If so, is 6 players on a team enough? I don't play the game, but it seems like 6 isn't enough to field a team without fatigue setting in.

I must be confused on something & would appreciate it if you could help me out here.
Darth,
Yes each team can only send two players at any given time
However they can rotate their players from the home team to the minors.
The NBDL should be having a draft to fill the rest of the roster spots...
it will be interesting to see if this draft is before the home teams designate their players for assignment to the NBDL... so they would know what postions they need the most help.

My earlier post was more about the competition our rookies would be facing on the Patriots team...
some players may qualify but are unlikely to be sent down (like Okafor, Felton and Ariza).

Mercury

OK. My understanding of what you are saying is that, yes, the Pistons, Knicks and Bobcats players will take up 6 spots (and the teams can rotate their own players to take the spots designated for their particular team). Like the Pistons could replace Johnson with Acker up to 3 times, or whatever. So, I did get that part before.

But...you are also saying that the NBDL will hold it's own draft...so the Patriots team will draft another 6 or so players to fill the other spots so that the team will have more than 6 players total???

If so, where do they draft from? Guys who are just out there but not in college? E.G. guys who were passed up in the draft and didn't hook up with another team, like Alan Anderson? (Assuming he hasn't hooked up with anyone... I don't recall either way). Guys in CBA-like leagues (If that is still around?). Guys who were playing in Europe?

Sorry, I'm slow sometimes. lol.

Darth,
It's all good... you got it.

I believe the drafted players come from any FA not picked up by a NBA team... this includes undrafted players and players released by the NBA teams..

The Patriots recently won the NBDL championship... what I'm not sure of is if they retain rights to some of their players from last year.

OK, Thanks Mercury.

Seems like this may work out really well for teams like Detroit who have a couple of potential future NBA players who can't make the deep roster just yet.

Micro, for some reason I couldn't quote your suggestion on renaming this forum to the "Patriots" but I think that would be a good idea... as you stated prolly not much board activity on the NBDL.

Already done. And I added Fayetteville in the Official links section.

Looks like Zeke is saying the Knicks won't send any players to the NBDL.
This may help our rookies get more PT.
It could also help with Joe's decision on whether to send them down.

Question

I just don't get why they are so reluctant to send players there. What better choices do they have? Methinks there are some politics behind this that we are not aware of.

Someone in here brought up that they are posturing for playing time. I think that my be accurate, but I also think there is more to it than that. What that may be I have no clue.
