| A sprocket Tale: Pistons versus Bucks A sprocket Tale: Pistons versus Bucks the stat sprocket Keys to the Series For the Pistons, play your game and nothing else will really matter. Otherwise…
By most statistical measures the Pistons are far and away the superior team, pretty much as expected for a one versus eighth seed matchup.
![]() Players When one team has the best starting five in the league you expect to see position by position dominance, and the numbers easily bear this out.
![]() Offense Detroit and Milwaukee source their points from more or less the same kinds of shots. Detroit relies a bit more on the three ball and Milwaukee both shoots a bit better from the free throw line and produces a slightly higher percentage of points from there. Shooting percentages are virtually identical. ![]() On a player by player basis…
![]() Defense Defense is of course very difficult to measure with the commonly kept statistics of defensive rebounds, steals, and blocks. However, combining these stats and penalizing players for fouls committed does provide at least a basis to measure general defensive prowess.

| Re: A sprocket Tale: Pistons versus Bucks We gotta add the fan sprockets into the mix... 5% more alcohol consumption whilst tailgating = .350 higher decibel volume. Mason provides a clear advantage in the motivational factor (Mason X2 over Bucks lame PA guy). Detroit Cheerleaders are 7% hotter than the Buckettes providing a clear fan moral differencial...this could hurt us in the Miami series though...(however we must subtract the male diversion rate factor)... I would recommend more silicone implants prior to the 3rd round.. a couple new dance routines could really supply the needed lift. All kidding aside that's some impressive crunching dba... definately value add for this forum.

| Re: A sprocket Tale: Pistons versus Bucks What about that lady from Haiti that had a human head in her carry on? She may have been hired by Bogut. Total fg % .455 vs .453 diff. .4% ? must be total pts. value weighted per game. |

| Re: A sprocket Tale: Pistons versus Bucks Quote:
Three's work the same way, +3 for making one, -1.082 for missing based on the league three shooting percentage of .361. I wanted to find some way of punishing bad shooting and deducting the expected value of a shot for each miss seemed a reasonable way of doing it. I was rushing to get this out before the series started and didn't include the description of the scoring method I usually put at the end.
